Abstract:
To provide an extension catheter for easily inserting an endovascular therapeutic instrument into a body. An extension catheter that can be inserted into a cylindrical catheter and projected from a distal opening of the cylindrical catheter, the extension catheter comprising a cylindrical member, wherein: the cylindrical member includes a cylindrical portion that has a radial cross-sectional shape which is circumferentially continuous and a notch portion that is on the proximal side from the cylindrical portion and has a radial cross-sectional shape which is not circumferentially continuous; the cylindrical portion includes a reinforced portion that includes a reinforcing member and a non-reinforced portion that is on the proximal side from the reinforced portion and does not include a reinforcing member; and the non-reinforced portion contains a first radiation impermeable material.
