Abstract:
An external-resonator-type light-emitting device (1) provided with: a semiconductor laser light source (2) that has an active layer (5) that oscillates semiconductor laser light; a grating element (9) that has a ridge-type optical waveguide and a Bragg grating (12) that comprises irregularities formed on the inside of the ridge-type optical waveguide, which has an incidence surface where semiconductor laser light enters and an emission surface that emits outgoing light of a desired wavelength; and a temperature sensor (21) that measures the temperature of the light-emitting device. The drive current of the semiconductor laser light source is controlled in accordance with the temperature measured by the temperature sensor (21).
