Title:
FAILOVER-CAPABLE WIRELESS POWER TRANSFER DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/023690
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a noncontact-type power transfer device which transfers power in a noncontact manner to carriers moving along two independent feeder tracks respectively, and more particularly, to a failover-capable wireless power transfer device capable of continuously operating carriers moving along feeder tracks even when one of two AC power supply units for applying AC power to the feeder tracks is out of order. According to the present invention, if two noncontact-type power transfer devices are installed, when one of two independent AC power supply units for applying AC power to respective feeder tracks ceases to operate due to a breakdown, the other one provides a backup function for simultaneously driving the two feeder tracks. Therefore, in such an environment as a production line of semiconductors or LCDs, where manufacturing processes should not be stopped even for a short period, the loss caused by the breakdown of the AC power supply unit can be prevented.
