Title:
FAILURE DETECTION DEVICE FOR ENGINE WITH TURBOCHARGER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/141130
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention enables a failure of an exhaust cutoff valve (43) to be accurately determined when the exhaust cutoff valve (43) is switched between an open state and a closed state in accordance with an operation region of the engine (1) and feedback control is performed so as to change the opening degree of a waste gate valve (47) such that the actual turbocharging pressure matches a target turbocharging pressure in an open-operation region where the exhaust cutoff valve (43) is in the open state and in a closed-operation region where the exhaust cutoff valve is in the closed state. Whether or not an abnormal state is caused is determined, and the normality/failure of the exhaust cutoff valve (43) is determined on the basis of the determination results in both of the aforementioned operation regions, said abnormal state being a state in which the actual turbocharging pressure remains lower than the target turbocharging pressure and the deviation between the actual turbocharging pressure and the target turbocharging pressure is kept equal to or higher than a predetermined value in spite of feedback control with a predetermined amount of feedback or more being performed for closing the waste gate valve (47) in the open-operation region and in the closed-operation region.
