Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to implement fault tolerance while rendering a shared disk array device unnecessary. A first server (11) and a second server (12) use a virtual address to mount a storage synchronization area of a storage (21) in NFS. The first server (11) acquires and transmits to the second server (12) a snapshot of the content of the memory in a virtual system operated as an active system. In addition, the first server (11) copies the content of the storage synchronization area of the storage (21) to a storage synchronization area of a storage (22). When a failure occurs in the first server (11) the second server (12) sets a virtual address in the storage (22) and uses the virtual address to mount the storage synchronization area of the storage (22) in NFS. The second server (12) uses the snapshot received from the first server (11) to execute an application (52) in a virtual system (42).
