Abstract:
A PA unit (3) of a fiber laser apparatus is provided with an amplifying fiber (4); LDs (5) for exciting the amplifying fiber (4); an LD heat-sink (6a) for absorbing heat generated by the LDs (5); and an LD fan (7a), a thermistor (8), and a CPU (9) for controlling the thermal resistance (Rth) of the LD heat-sink (6a). The temperature of the LDs (5) is controlled by changing the thermal resistance (Rth) of the LD heat-sink (6a) so that the temperature of the LDs (5) will approach a temperature (Tpeak) wherein the oscillation wavelength of the LDs (5) will become a wavelength whereby the absorptivity of the amplifying fiber (4) will become a local maximum.
