Abstract:
A fiber product, such as, especially, stockings or underclothing, made of low elongation covered elastic thread whose maximum elongation in the elastic range is 20 % - 100 %. Such a fiber product has very excellent characteristics such as good touch, wearing feeling given by suppressing sultriness and stuffy feeling in summer, improved durability, easiness of wearing/unwearing, uniform appearance and no cramping. After the elastic thread which is extended 1.3 - 2.8 times is covered with covering threads, the covered elastic thread is continuously subjected to a heat treatment at 170 °C - 200 °C for the heat fixing at a string speed ratio of 70 - 110 % to the thread speed when the covering is finished. As the covering threads of the threads for stockings, nylon threads are preferable.
