Title:
FIBER USING OLEFIN RESIN, NONWOVEN FABRIC USING SAME, AND SEPARATOR FOR ALKALI STORAGE BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/186892
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is an inexpensive nonwoven fabric separator for an alkali storage battery, said separator being capable of ensuring stable spinning and restraining self-discharge due to the excellent ability thereof to capture ammonia. A high stability in spinning can be ensured by spinning a resin that comprises, as a fiber, a maleic anhydride-denatured polyolefin in such an amount as to give a maleic anhydride content of 3.5-35 mass%, a crystalline polyolefin, and 1.0 mass% or more of a low-crystalline polyolefin. By employing a nonwoven fabric using the aforesaid fiber as a separator of an alkali storage battery, a high-level ability to capture ammonia can be exhibited and self-discharge can be restrained.
