Abstract:
This filter apparatus, which can be placed outside a washing machine and can be connected to a drain device of the washing machine, comprises: a filter case having a case inlet and a case outlet; a filter which is detachably mounted inside the filter case and through which water flowing from the case inlet to the case outlet passes; a sensor configured to detect water flowing into the filter apparatus from the drain device and generate a corresponding signal; and a filter cleaning device configured to clean the filter in response to the signal generated by the sensor.
