Abstract:
A filtered cigarette (10A) produced by this production method comprises a filter (14D) lined up in tandem with the base end of a cigarette (12), and a tipping paper (16) that joins the filter (14D) and the cigarette (12). The filter (14D) has: a plurality of axial passages (32) positioned on the outer periphery; and a dam (38) that is provided to a number of axial passages (32a) among the axial passages (32), and occludes the axial passages (32a). Meanwhile, the tipping paper (16) has a plurality of feeding holes (42) capable of communicating with the axial passages (32a). The dam (38) and feeding holes (42) are both positioned in the mouth of a user when the filtered cigarette (10A) is being smoked. The feeding holes (42) feed a main stream of smoke guided inside the axial passages (32a) in the radial direction of the filtered cigarette (10A) inside the mouth of the user.
