Abstract:
A flexible tubing portion (25) of an endoscope (12) comprises a metallic spiral tube (51), a braided tube (53) which covers the metallic spiral tube (51) and which is formed by a plurality of wires (531) being bundled together into a wire bundle (533) which is woven into the tube, an envelope (55) which covers the braided tube (53), and a constraining portion (61) for constraining motion of the wires (531) of the braided tube (53). The ratio of the surface area of the constraining portion (61) with respect to the surface area of the braided tube (53) differs between the axial directions of the braided tube (53), respectively.
