Abstract:
Disclosed is a secondary battery capable of reducing deterioration caused by temperatures to the absolute minimum. In a secondary battery (30), an electricity generating element group (6), having an elliptical cross-section, is housed in a battery container. In the electricity generating element group (6), a positive electrode sheet having, on one side in the lengthwise direction, a part that is not coated with an active material mixture; and a negative electrode sheet having, on one side in the lengthwise direction, a part that is not coated with an active material mixture; are rolled up, and a separator is interposed therebetween. When a planar part of the electricity generating element group (6) is viewed in the plane, the number of bonding sites of the non-coated parts of the positive and negative electrode sheets and the bonding faces (53) of positive and negative electrode connector sheets is two, respectively (8A1, 8A2, and 8B1, 9B2); and the distance between two bonding sites is set to be both greater than one-fourth the length of the innermost circumference, and less than one-fourth the length of the outermost circumference, of the electricity generating element group (6).
