Abstract:
The present invention reduces the amount of inorganic flocculant added and forms pellets having a rapid sedimentation rate while efficiently carrying out COD reduction and chromaticity elimination. A flocculation device 1 has: a first reaction tank 3 provided with a means 6 for adding an inorganic flocculant to water to be treated and a means 7 for adding an organic coagulant to the water to be treated; a sedimentation tank 5 positioned downstream of the first reaction tank 3; and a means 10 for adding a first polymer flocculant to the water to be treated and positioned in a section between the first reaction tank 3 to just before the sedimentation tank 5. The sedimentation tank 5 stirs the water to be treated to which the inorganic flocculant, the organic coagulant, and the polymer flocculant have been added, thereby forming aggregated floc and pelletizing same, then separates the pelletized aggregated floc from the treated water.
