Abstract:
A flowing-water detector of novel operating valve type, which can be applied to relatively large diameters. A flowing-water detector (A) is provided with a coiled spring (14) for urging a detecting rod (11) in the direction in which a valve element (7) is opened. This causes that, even if flowing water is detected by causing rotation of a detecting rod (11) to be operatively associated with rotation of a valve element (7) when the valve element (7) is opened and closed by a pressure difference across the valve element (7), a closing load cannot be applied to the valve element (7) opened by the detecting rod (11). Accordingly, in a conventional operating valve type flowing-water detector, even if there is only a little amount of flowing water on the secondary side and the valve element is rotated a small amount, the angle of opening of the valve element (7) can be increased. The operating valve type flowing-water detector (A) has highly reliable operation detecting ability and can be applied particularly to relatively large diameters mostly used in general buildings and ranging from 65A (2-1/2”) to 200A (8”).
