Abstract:
A fluid dynamic bearing device (1) which is provided with a bearing sleeve (8) produced from sintered metal, and a rotating body (2) having a shaft part (21) inserted in the inner periphery of the bearing sleeve (8) and a hub part (23) projecting radially outward from one end of the shaft part (21), and in which thrust bearing clearances of first and second thrust bearing parts (T1, T2) are formed at the upper end surface (8b) and the lower end surface (8c) of the bearing sleeve (8) with the rotation of the rotating body (2), wherein sealing is performed on at least the outer peripheral surface of the bearing sleeve (8), a seal clearance (S) that holds the oil level of lubricating oil is formed on the tapered outer peripheral surface (8d1) of the bearing sleeve (8), and a closed-end cylindrical lid member (10) is secured to the outer periphery of the lower end of the bearing sleeve (8).
