Abstract:
A fluorescence observation device according to the present invention is provided with: a first intensity modulation unit for modulating the intensity of pump light at a frequency f1, the pump light exciting fluorescence in an observation object; a second intensity modulation unit for modulating the intensity of probe light at a frequency f2 different from the frequency f1, the probe light inducing stimulated emission by the observation object; a light receiving unit for receiving fluorescence from the observation object irradiated by the intensity-modulated pump light and probe light; and a detection unit for detecting a frequency i × f1±j × f2 (where i and j are positive integers, and i and/or j is 2 or greater) component in a light reception signal detected by the light receiving unit.
