Abstract:
A focus adjustment device is characterized by being provided with an image capturing unit (22) which outputs an image signal corresponding to an image formed by an optical system, a focus detection unit (21) which performs focus detection processing of repeatedly detecting the focus state of the optical system, a diaphragm (34) which restricts a light flux incident on the image capturing unit (22), a diaphragm driving unit (38) which drives the diaphragm (34), a starting unit (28) which starts the focus detection processing performed by the focus detection unit (21), a focusing determination unit (21) which, when the focus detection processing is started, performs focusing determination processing of repeatedly determining, on the basis of a focus detection result, whether or not the focus state of the optical system is a focusing state, a mode setting unit (28) which is capable of setting a moving image capturing mode, and a control unit (21) which, when the diaphragm (34) is driven, controls the focusing determination processing performed by the focusing determination unit (21), and characterized in that when the moving image capturing mode is set, the control unit (21) permits the focusing determination processing even when the diaphragm (34) is driven.
