Title:
VEHICLE SURROUNDINGS MONITORING SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/015130
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle surroundings monitoring system that facilitates recognition of a driver in pickup directions for an object that appears in an overlapping area of a bird's-eye view image generated from multiple images captured. Bird's-eye view image segments, which are generated from multiple images captured in a partially overlapping manner, are combined while superimposing the relevant overlapping areas in order to generate a display-purpose bird's-eye view image. When displaying the display-purpose bird's-eye view image, a bird's-eye view image with boundaries, for which boundary indicators have been added to the overlapping areas of the bird's-eye view image, is presented on a display unit, and then a fused bird's-eye view image is displayed using fused superimposed images, which have been fused according to preset fusing conditions for the overlapping areas of the bird's-eye view image.
