Abstract:
A foldable portable terminal apparatus in which, when housings are opened to talk, a first housing can be held at an opening inclination angle that provides easiness in talking and, in situations other than talking, the first housing can be held at opening inclination angles that provide convenience of use. The foldable portable terminal apparatus in which a first housing (1) that is provided with a receiver section (13) and a display section (12) and a second housing (2) that is provided with a mouthpiece section (23) and a first operation section (21) are joined by a hinge (3) that has two degrees of freedom in pivoting, the hinge rotating both in an opening/closing direction and in the direction orthogonal to the opening/closing direction. A projection (2A) is provided on the second housing (2), near the hinge (3), and a groove (1A) and a groove (1B) are arranged, respectively, on that surface of the first housing (1) which has a receiver section (13) and on the opposite surface, in the vicinity of the hinge (3). As a result, in rotating operation, the projection (2A) engages in the groove (1A) or the groove (1B).
