Abstract:

A flange for coupling marine hoses has on its outer surface a liquid leakage sensor and a strain gage. Information from the liquid leakage sensor and the strain gage is transmitted through a signal line to an information accumulation device on a single-point mooring buoy. A computer is connected to the single-point mooring buoy, and the information transmitted from the liquid leakage sensor and the strain gage is taken into the computer to a detect marine hose having liquid leakage and a marine hose subjected to extraordinary external force. Further, the information transmitted from the strain gage is taken into the computer, and a fatigue degree of each hose is estimated based on the number of times in which stresses equal to or greater than a specific minimum set value has occurred inside the marine hose and on the magnitude of each of the stresses. Such pieces of information are displayed on a computer display screen, and the time of replacement of a marine hose is estimated based on the pieces of information.
