Disclosed are a food menu item payment service system providing an automatic local currency purchase function, and a method therefor, wherein, when a user requests to pay for a food menu item using local currency, the system automatically purchases the local currency to carry out the payment, thus allowing the user to conveniently receive a local currency payment service without having to separately purchase the local currency according to the location of a restaurant.
