Abstract:
A sample (S) is fixed to a specimen stage (20). A sensor (40) that has a probe (42) and is slidably supported by a guide mechanism (30) is set up. The sensor (40) is allowed to freely slide toward the specimen stage (20), and the probe (42) is allowed to plunge into the sample (S) at a prescribed speed. Vibrations that occur in the probe (42) after the probe plunges into the sample are detected, and vibration energy is calculated as a first texture index (ETI) on the basis of the vibrations and the mass (m) of the sensor (40).
