Abstract:
This forged crank shaft (1) comprises a carbon steel containing S, and has a ratio (x/y) of a sulfide area ratio (x) in a position (X) corresponding to the parting plane of a finish-forging die to the sulfide area ratio (y) in a position (Y) corresponding to the base of the die-carved section of the finish-forging die of 1.5 or less, in a section corresponding to the surface after outer-circumferential mechanical processing of shaft parts including a journal part (J), a pin part (P), a front part (Fr), and a flange part (Fl). This forged crank shaft (1) is capable of preventing the occurrence of processed-surface cracking in the journal part (J) and the pin part (P) after the outer-circumferential mechanical processing.
