Provided are a frame sealant, a method for manufacturing a frame sealant, and a method for manufacturing a backlight module. The frame sealant employs a riding-stitch design; during assembly, the excess material outside of the riding stitch is torn off along the riding stitch to obtain a narrow frame sealant; thus problems such as excess glue and waste of adhesive material when the frame sealant is made narrow are prevented, while it is easy to detach the waste material, effectively reducing the defect rate. In the method for manufacturing the frame sealant, the inner frame line (11) of the frame sealant is first trimmed off of the colloidal film material (1); then an intermittent riding stitch (12) is pre-formed at the outer frame line of the frame sealant; lastly, a ring of frame sealant reserved outer frame line (13) is trimmed off from the outer periphery of the riding stitch (12); the obtained frame sealant effectively has a narrow border frame, so that the backlight module may also have a narrow border frame, and yield is high.
