A fresh product disinfection and storage device and method for disinfecting the fresh product and maintaining freshness by contacting the fresh product with ozone gas and carbon dioxide gas in a gas mist state are provided. This fresh product disinfection and storage device is provided with a gas supply means (10) which supplies ozone gas, carbon dioxide gas or a mixture of these, a liquid supply means (20) which supplies a liquid, a gas mist generation means (30) which generates a gas mist by grounding and dissolving the gas and liquid supplied from the gas supply means (10) and the liquid supply means (20), a fresh product packaging bag (60) which internally accommodates the fresh product (100) and which forms a space in which the gas mist from the gas mist generation means (30) is sealed internally, and a means for removing the gas mist inside of the fresh product packaging bag (60). By contacting the fresh product (100) with ozone gas and carbon dioxide gas in a gas mist state, the fresh product (100) is disinfected and freshness is maintained.
