Abstract:
The present invention increases friction and improves a gear rattle reduction effect in a friction damper (1) having a lip-shaped elastic sliding body (12). In order to achieve this objective: the present invention comprises an attachment ring (11) that is fitted to one of a gear shaft side and a gear side, said gear being supported so as to be rotatable relative to the outer periphery of said gear shaft, and an elastic sliding body (12) that is molded integrally with the attachment ring (11) using a rubber elastic material, extends in a lip shape in the axial direction, and slidably contacts the other of the gear shaft side and the gear side while in a state of bending deformation in the radial direction; and a thickness-removed portion (121) facing the gear side or the gear shaft side, which constitute a sliding counterpart, is formed at the base (12a) of the elastic sliding body (12) on the attachment ring (11) side.
