Title:
FRICTION WELDING STRUCTURE OF HIGH-STRENGTH BOLT AND STEEL MATERIAL THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1996/024730
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The ratio of the hardness of the surface layer of one of a plurality of steel materials constituting a friction welding surface to the hardness of the surface layer of the other steel material is equal to or more than 2.5. The surface layer having a higher hardness has a depth equal to or more than 0.2 mm. On the surface layer having a higher hardness are provided a plurality of projections having heights of 0.2 to 1.0 mm and having triangular wave shapes or pyramidal shapes, ensuring a slip factor equal to or more than 0.9, improving the friction surfaces in quality, enhancing the joining performance, making the friction welded portions compact, improving the workability and attaining cost reduction of the work.
