Abstract:
A small-size fuel battery preferably used as a power supply of a portable electronic device such as a portable telephone, a notebook computer, or a PDA. The fuel battery has a structure where unit cells are connected. Each unit cell is composed by forming an electrolyte layer in a fuel electrode body and an air electrode layer in the electrolyte layer. To each unit cell, a fuel supply body or a fuel electrode body having an infiltration structure connected to a fuel storage tank for storing a liquid fuel is connected to supply the liquid fuel to the unit cell. The liquid fuel storage tank contains a liquid fuel absorber composed of a porous body and/or a fiber bundle having a capillary force.
