Abstract:
Disclosed is a hydrogen circulation type fuel cell system equipped with electrochemical cell, wherein the anode off-gas containing concentrated impurities is exhausted out of the system at appropriate time. The fuel cell system has such a circulation path that a hydrogen-containing fuel gas is supplied to the anode side for the electrochemical reaction in the fuel cell and part or all of the anode off-gas generated from the fuel cell can be circulated to the anode side of the fuel cell to be used in the electrochemical reaction again. It is equipped with an electrochemical cell that can selectively supply the hydrogen in the anode off-gas flowing in the circulation path to the anode side by flowing a current between the electrodes. The exhaust time for exhausting the anode off-gas in the entrance electrode of the electrochemical cell out of the system is controlled based on a prescribed exhaust reference determined by the relationship between the power consumed for hydrogen penetration in the electrochemical cell and the concentration of the hydrogen remaining in the anode off-gas exhausted by the exhaust part.
