Abstract:
This fuel cell system (1) has a fuel cell stack (10) containing a plurality of stacked single-cell fuel cells (11) for generating electricity by supplying hydrogen gas to an anode (14) and supplying air to a cathode (13). The fuel cell system also has a voltage-applying device (C9) for applying a voltage to the fuel cell stack (10) after the oxygen present in the cathode (13) has been reduced. The fuel cell system further has a cross leakage diagnostic device (C12) for diagnosing whether the hydrogen gas of the anode (14) is cross-leaking into the cathode (13) in each of the single-cell fuel cells (11). The diagnosis is made on the basis of the voltage of the single-cell fuel cells (11) when the voltage is applied to the fuel cell stack (10) by the voltage-applying device (C9).
