Abstract:
This fuel cell (10) is provided with a fuel electrode (20), an air electrode (50), and a solid electrolyte layer (30). The air electrode (50) includes, as a main component, a perovskite-type oxide, and includes, as a secondary component, a compound including S and/or Cr. The air electrode (50) has a surface (50S) provided at the opposite side to the solid electrolyte layer (30). The surface (50S) of the air electrode (50) includes: a first region (S1); and a second region (S2) positioned further downstream than the first region (S1) in the flow direction of an oxidant gas flowing along the surface (50S). The first region (S1) and the second region (S2) respectively include: a main phase formed from the perovskite-type oxide; and a second phase formed from the compound including S and/or Cr. The area occupancy of the second phase in the first region (S1) is greater than the area occupancy of the second phase in the second region (S2).
