Abstract:
A fuel filter comprising a filter chamber (61) composed of an inner tube (57) and an outer tube (58) concentrically disposed at a specified interval, a bottom wall portion (60) for closing the open ends of the inner and outer tubes (57), (58) at each one end thereof, and a lid (63) provided with a fuel suction pipe (55) and a fuel delivery pipe (52), for closing the open ends of the inner and outer tubes (57), (58) at the other ends thereof, and a filter member (66) housed in the filter chamber (61), for filtering fuel flowing into the filter chamber (61), wherein a member for imparting centrifugal force to flowing−in fuel is provided at the end on the lid (63) side of the filter member (66), and a groove (75) extending in the inner wall surface of the inner tube (57) is formed in the bottom wall (60), whereby abrasion powder generated in a fuel pump (8) is separated and trapped, clogging of the filter member (66) is prevented, and the fuel filter is extended in service life and downsized.
