A fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine raises the temperature of fuel without consuming the fuel. The fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine is provided with a determining means (20) for determining whether or not the fuel injection device is in a fuel cut state in which supply of fuel to the internal combustion engine (1) is suspended, and also with a discharging means (2) receiving power from a rotating shaft of the internal combustion engine (1) to discharge the fuel. The fuel injection device is also provided with an increasing means (20) which, when it is determined by the determining means (20) that the fuel injection device is in the fuel cut state, increases work of the discharging means (2) to a level greater than that when the fuel injection device is not in the fuel cut state.
