Disclosed are a fully mechanized mining face scraper conveyer chain state detection device and method. The detection device comprises a magnetic field generation device and a magnetic field detection device, wherein the magnetic field generation device comprises an adjustable direct-current source (1) and a multi-ring coil (2), the magnetic field detection device comprises a detection probe (3), a polarizer (4), an optical fiber circulator (5), a broadband light source (6), and a photoelectric detector (7), the detection probe (3) comprises a reflection mirror (31), a magnetic induction loop (32), and a magneto-optic crystal (33), and the detection probe (3) is close to a chain (8) by means of adjusting a support to achieve online detection. With the detection device and method, online detection of the chain (8) can be achieved, safe and stable running of a scraper conveyer is ensured, and the potential safety hazards of coalmine production are avoided.
