Abstract:
[Problem] The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a functional material having a coating layer that exhibits water repellency, oil resistance, vapor barrier properties, heat seal properties, and blocking resistance, which are properties required for food packaging materials; and a method for producing the functional material. [Solution] A functional material having two or more coating layers contiguous with at least one substrate surface, wherein the functional material is characterized in that: a coating layer (X) in direct contact with a substrate contains a synthetic resin (A) having an acid value of 35 to 65 mgKOH/g; a coating layer (Y) of an outermost surface contains a synthetic resin (B) having a glass transition temperature of -35°C to 65°C; and all coating layers contain 0.5 to 10 mass% of a wax component with respect to the total mass of synthetic resins.
