Abstract:
The present invention is a gas generator having: a cylindrical housing; an ignition device and diffuser unit respectively mounted on a first end and a second end of the cylindrical housing; a channel formation member disposed in the cylindrical housing, the channel formation member having a partition wall partitioning a first chamber and a second chamber; a combustion chamber in the first chamber; a discharge path formed in the second chamber; first communication holes formed in a first peripheral wall part, and a first cylindrical space on the outside of the first peripheral wall part; second communication holes formed in a second peripheral wall part, and a second cylindrical space communicating with the first cylindrical space on the outside of the second peripheral wall part; and a cylindrical filter disposed in the second cylindrical space. The outside diameter (d1) of the first peripheral wall part, the outside diameter (d2) of the second peripheral wall part, and the outside diameter (d3) of the cylindrical filter satisfy d1 > d2 and d1 ≥ d3. Between the cylindrical filter and the inner wall surface of the cylindrical housing, the second cylindrical space faces the second communication holes across the cylindrical filter.
