Abstract:
The present invention comprises: a surge voltage detection circuit 20 that detects, as a surge voltage, a peak voltage when a switching element is turned off; a delay circuit 50 that, when a turn-off initiation signal is applied, outputs a timing signal when a set delay time has lapsed; and a drive current output unit 60 that, when the turn-off initiation signal is applied, starts to send a first gate drive current to a switching element gate and sends a second gate drive current, which is lower than the first gate drive current, when the timing signal is output from the delay circuit. The delay circuit is configured so as to change/set the delay time when the surge voltage detected by the surge voltage detection circuit is different from a target value.
