Abstract:
Provided is a glass panel unit that is capable of exhibiting high thermal insulation properties and that can be readily installed in transport equipment. This glass panel(8) is equipped with: a first substrate (1) including a first glass panel (15); a second substrate (2) including a second glass panel (25); and a frame-shaped seal part (4) that is bonded to the first substrate (1) and the second substrate (2) in an air-tight state. The seal part (4) forms a decompressed space between the first substrate (1) and the second substrate (2). When viewed from a side where the second substrate (2) is positioned with respect to the first substrate (1), the first substrate (1) has a portion (1b) that is formed so as to protrude outward from an edge (2a) of the second substrate (2). At the portion (1b), an attaching part (5) to be attached to transport equipment (9) is formed.
