Abstract:
The present invention discloses an enhanced base station, which includes: a Um interface function module, a base station function module, a controller function module and an A-Interface function module; wherein, the function of Base Transceiver Station (BTS) in traditional Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) is implemented by the Um interface function module, the base station function module and the A-Interface function module, and the function of Base Station Controller (BSC) in traditional GSM is implemented by the controller function module and A-Interface function module. The present invention also provides a GSM and method for implementing flat mobile communication. In both system and method, the functions of BTS and BSC in traditional GSM are implemented by the enhanced base station, so that the number of devices required for composing GSM is reduced, and the number of network element devices, through which service data or signaling between the calling party and called party is transmitted, is reduced. And further, transmission time for service data or signaling is reduced, and reliability of transmission is improved.
