Abstract:
The present invention makes it easy to identify an operating mode if a guiding sound generation device has a plurality of operation modes. A guiding sound generation device has a plurality of operation modes for causing a guiding sound to be heard by a user, over a background sound. The guiding sound generation device is provided with a guiding sound generation unit 13 for generating a modulated sound signal according to the operation mode; an output unit 16 for outputting at least the guiding sound; a mode setting unit 11 for setting one of the plurality of operation modes automatically or in accordance with a user operation; and a control unit 12 for controlling the operation of the guiding sound generation device according to the set operation mode. The control unit 12 makes it possible to auditorily distinguish the plurality of operation mode by differentiating, in each of the plurality of operation modes, at least one of i) the nature of at least one of the guiding sound and the background sound, and ii) the relationship between the guiding sound and the background sound from the other operation modes.
