Abstract:

A halogen-free flame-retardant epoxy resin composition containing: (A) a bisphenol A epoxy resin; (B) a novolak epoxy resin; (C) a phenol resin curative; (D) a cure accelerator; and (E) an inorganic filler. The curative (C) is a nitrogenous phenol resin, preferably a cocondensate resin formed among phenol, guanamine and aldehyde compounds, still preferably a phenol resin containing phosphorus and nitrogen atoms. It is also possible to use a curative comprising a combination of (C-1) the cocondensate resin with (C-2) a reactive phosphoric ester.
