Title:
HEAD-MOUNTED DISPLAY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/216176
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a head-mounted display (HMD) for an aircraft that allows a user to view a wide-field display image with reduced astigmatism. The reflective surface (10a) of a visor (10) whereon a projection optical system (12) projects display light is formed aspherically and not spherically with a smaller curvature in a vertical direction than in a horizontal direction. The difference in curvature eliminates the difference in optical power due to the difference in incidence angle on the reflective surface (10a) and so forth, to thereby reduce the astigmatism. The HMD is structured to form an intermediary image in any of a vertical direction and a horizontal direction inside the projection optical system (12) or along an optical path from the projection optical system (12) to the reflective surface (10a), thereby increasing the flexibility in arranging an optical element while reducing the size and weight of the HMD.
