Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a head-up display device which is to be mounted in a vehicle and which is for displaying a virtual image in front of a windshield, the head-up display device being provided with: a video display device which generates and emits image light corresponding to the virtual image; and a reflecting mirror (5) which reflects the image light emitted from the video display device and projects the same on to the windshield. The reflection surface of the reflecting mirror (5) has a structure in which a reflection coating is formed on the surface of a substrate, and in which no reflection coating is formed in an invalid area (52) in which the image light does not enter. Due to this configuration, the present invention is able to easily prevent the occurrence of stray light generated by light reflected from the vicinity of an edge (50), etc., of the reflecting mirror, without using a masking material.
