Abstract:
A headlight device for a vehicle is provided with: a headlight for irradiating the front of the vehicle; an irradiation range change means for changing the irradiation range of the headlight; a detection means for detecting the position of a front vehicle present in front of the vehicle; a control means for controlling the irradiation range change means on the basis of the position of the front vehicle detected by the detection means; and a determination means for determining whether or not the position of the front vehicle is within the irradiation range, and performs control for changing the irradiation range such that the position of the front vehicle falls outside the irradiation range if the position of the front vehicle is determined to be within the irradiation range, and for not changing the irradiation range or for preventing the irradiation range change means from changing the irradiation range if the position of the front vehicle is determined to be outside the irradiation range.
