Abstract:

The disclosed health-monitoring device comprises an imaging unit, an extracting unit that extracts characteristic points corresponding to specific sites in the facial image of a subject from images that contain said subject that are obtained by the imaging unit, a detecting unit that uses the extracted characteristic points to detect the amount of movement of the characteristic points corresponding to specific movements made by the subject, a storage unit that stores the movement amounts detected by the detecting unit in association with date information, and an assessment unit that assesses the health of the subject based on changes over time in the amount of movement stored in the storage unit.
