Title:
HEAT-RESISTANT STEEL FOR ENGINE VALVE HAVING EXCELLENT HIGH-TEMPERATURE STRENGTH
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/150795
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An Fe-based heat-resistant steel that has achieved a high-temperature strength as high as that of an Ni-based heat-resistant alloy makes it possible to provide a low-cost heat-resistant steel for an engine valve. Disclosed is a heat-resistant steel for an engine valve having excellent high-temperature strength, which contains, in mass%, 0.20-0.50% of C, 1.0% or less of Si, 5.0% or less of Mn, 0.1-0.5% of P, 8.0-15.0% of Ni, 16.0-25.0% of Cr, 2.0% or less (including 0%) of Mo, 0.5% or less of Cu, 1.0% or less (including 0%) of Nb, 2.0% or less (including 0%) of W, 0.02-0.30% of N, 0.01% or less of B, with the balance made up of Fe and unavoidable impurities. The heat-resistant steel for an engine valve is characterized by satisfying the following relations. 156.42P (%) + 0.91Mo (%) + 0.73W (%) - 12.27Nb (%) + 220.96N (%) + 120.59 ≥ 170 (1) 13.70P (%) - 6.97Mo (%) - 4.32W (%) - 3.29Nb (%) + 119.10N (%) + 27.75 ≥ 25 (2)
