Abstract:
It is intended to provide a Helicobacter pylori growth inhibitor which can be produced very simply in a large amount, contains a compound specifically inhibiting Helicobacter pylori growth, is safe and does not cause a resistant bacterium, and food and drink and a pharmaceutical preparation containing the growth inhibitor. The Helicobacter pylori growth inhibitor contains an α-N-acetylglucosaminyl-binding monosaccharide derivative represented by the following chemical formula (1). GlcNAc1-α-O-Y (1) (In the formula (1), Y represents a linear, branched or cyclic aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 27 carbon atoms or a linear, branched or cyclic acyl group having 1 to 27 carbon atoms.) The food and drink or the pharmaceutical preparation contains the Helicobacter pylori growth inhibitor.
