Abstract:
The present invention relates to a heterodimeric protein, separate polypeptides constituting the heterodimeric protein, and amino acid sequences encoding the polypeptides. The present invention also relates to a method of forming the heterodimeric protein. The monomers of the dimeric protein are connected by electric charges on a contact surface. Unlike the existing knobs-into-holes technology, the present invention relies on the electrostatic attraction of the electric charges on outer edges of the contact surface of two monomers for connection, and therefore the connection is stronger than the knobs-into-holes technology, which relies on the force in the central region of the contact surface for connection. The present invention is more suitable for the development of a dimeric protein.
