Abstract:
Described is a tube fitting assembly (100) for use at high pressure. End-face seals (126) minimize the sealing radius and therefore allow various fittings - including known ferrule fittings -to be used in high-pressure systems. End- face seals (126) at such high pressure may require smooth surfaces. In order to reduce cost, an end- face preparation tool (238) forges a dimple (236) into the end face (122) to mechanically deform and smooth the surface.
