Title:
HIGH TEMPERATURE HEAT STORAGE TANK
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2000/019154
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A high temperature heat storage tank that can reduce the size of a heat storage tank having a mixture of solid and liquid heat storage materials and reduce the device cost. This high temperature heat storage tank is characterized in that contained in a tank having disposed therein an electric heater (1) and a heat transfer pipe (2) into which a fluid is introduced, are solid heat storage materials (3A, 3B and/or 3C) having a plurality of particle sizes and a liquid heat storage material 3D. Further, in the case where the solid heat storage materials have two particle sizes, they are characterized in that a ratio of the smaller particle size to the larger particle size is not larger than 0.4. Further, in the case where the solid heat storage materials have three or more particle sizes, they are characterized in that as the particle size becomes smaller, it decreases in geometrical progression with a ratio of not more than 0.4. The solid heat storage materials are characterized in that they are magnesia, magnetite, silica and/or alumina. Further, of the solid heat storage materials, those having smaller particle size may be metals.
